Preface I appreciate the focus on learning to read and write. Seeems to have a rigorous approach to learning the language at a deeper level. In general, this is a good thing. Language learning has been reduced to a lowest common denominator. The focus is not on learning the language in order to read, but learning the language enough to read a technical commentary. What These are my guides for anything Greek related. I’ll throw resources in here and try to keep it somewhat organized as I go. As always, use the Greek tag to find all the posts. Grammars I occasionally work through different Greek grammars. I used Black’s in seminary. I taught through Mounce’s at one point. Schwandt’s Grammar Notes It’s been a while and my greek is getting rusty, so I am working through Schwandt’s An Introduction To Biblical Greek A Grammar. I picked this one because I already had it in Logos, and I appreciate most things by Lexham Press. ...

What’s Anki? Anki is a flashcard tool. It’s built on the principle of spaced repetion, meaning that it repeats the cards based on your ability to answer. There’s lofs of info out there on how exactly it works. It really is a cheat code for anything you need to memorize. I use it for everything from my kids’ birthdays to language learning. Anki Tips Cloze deletion cards are almost always the best option. Writing your own cards is always best, but steal when necessary. When memorizing vocab, take the time to do a first pass outside of anki. I prefer to write things out by hand until I “know” it, then start anki after a quick break. For charts, have an LLM build you an html version and use that with cloze deletions. Multiple ways of asking the same question is good. For language learning, throw some exercises from the book in there as well.
